According to the finnish online magazine Iltalehti Him are back in action… or as keyboardist Burton tweets, they are “back to the old drawing board”.

In this article, HIM’s manager says that the band is working on new songs and rehearsals will last well into autumn. The new album will probably be released in 2012. Regarding the new record label, Seppo states that they have not yet made a final decision.

The article also mentions that HIM may be seen as early as New Years Eve at Tavastia Club. Seppo says there is still no confirmations regarding the bands appearance at Helldone.

According to the bands official website: “After 6 years and three albums, Finnish rock band HIM and Sire/Warner Music have decided to part ways. Seymour Stein, founder of Sire Records says: “It was a pleasure working with HIM, and we’re very proud to have been their partners for the last six years. Ville is a rare talent, and my relationship with their manager Seppo dates back to the days when he pioneered rock music in Finland looking after the career of Hanoi Rocks. HIM are particularly important because they are the first and only band from Finland to reach Gold status in America. I, along with the entire Sire/Warner Bros. family, wish them continued success in the future.”

This was how Ville Valo described(*) the album’s  genre on  yesterday’s  Euro Rock Radio interview hosted by CelticAngel. In an interview lasting a little over an hour, and followed by a chatroom (or 2) full of anxious and curious fans, Ville prefered to keep an aura of mystery around the new album, only revealing bits and pieces of information. Enough to keep the fans temporarily satisfied yet curious about the surprises that are to come (and it looks like we’ll be having a few in the very near future). If, on one hand, Ville wasn’t too revealing about the album, on the other hand he was very open when it came to answering the questions sent in by the fans. Some very interesting and amusing questions with answers that…well … you can hear for yourself here at Euro Rock Radio.

Poderão ler a tradução desta entrevista no site do HIM Brasil.

(*) I hope I haven’t misquoted him, if so please correct me:)

In the September issue of  Brazilian Magazine Roadie Crew, there’s a 3 page article on HIM, written by Ricardo Campos who interviewed Ville Valo this summer in Helsinki. According to Ricardo he “had the opportunity to speak quietly to Ville, on a sunny Finnish summer day and address issues such as the heavy sound of their last album Venus Doom, of Digital Versatile Doom, the tenth anniversary of the cult album Razorblade Romance, and of course their new studio album, scheduled for next year. With much sense of humor and friendliness, the singer and composer was explicit in his answers and revealed alot of information that will certainly be of great value to his fans.”

For more information and a snapshot of the 3 page article, click here and select “him” from the top right of the page.

UPDATE! I contacted Ricardo Campos (who, by the way, turns out to be a very cool guy)  about the possibility of sending the magazine to other countries outside of Brazil. Along with the information, he also allowed to pass on his twitter page if anyone wishes to contact him. Check out his band blog here where he also mentions his trip to Helsinki and his meeting with Ville Valo.
