Proof of this are the comments posted in response to Kerrang’s latest news article (*) about HIM’s new album Screamworks: Love in Theory and Practice. In a world where everyone has their own musical tastes, most people do what is considered “normal”… they follow their favourite artists and ignore those they dislike. So why do some people waste their time reading news about HIM and another 10 minutes more sending hateful comments about a band they don’t like? Well, the answer is simple … you just can’t ignore a band like HIM. And don’t even think you can get away with dissing HIM without first having to face their loyal army of fans!
One of these fans (Brainz) wrote to Kerrang! in response to the nasty comments posted on Kerrangs website. This letter was featured in the latest Kerrang! issue (1280) where they also left an interesting response…

Sometimes I think people have too much of spare time and they use it in the worst way…
I simply ignore the bands I don’t like, what’s the matter to insult them, it’s their work and must be respected, wheter you like it or not…this is my opinion.

I’ve always thought insulting everyone else’s work is a waste of time that can be used promoting your own band…I usually yawn when I’m at festivals if I don’t like the band that’s performing, but I’m far beyond booing or insulting them…
It’s hard to understand the weird world we live on!

Indeed it seems people should re-direct their energy… As music coordinator for Gothic Beauty Magazine, I can say with certainty we would never waste the time (or expensive print space!) to slam somebody’s work. Especially HIM!
If you’re not helping sell albums or fill shows, what on earth are you trying to accomplish??

HIM is like the best band ever!!!!!
i have been a fan for so long. people who dis HIM obuessly dont have good taste in bands. but ever body to their own thing. like they say. and itz really great that they are bringing out a ALBUM!!!! i cant wait soon as itz in im buying it!!!!!
