From the lands of the midnight sun rises a band who’s music is as dark and heavy as the northern nights, yet as captivating and as breath-taking as the hypnotic northern lights.

They are known as HIM. Hailing from Helsinki, Finland, the band initially named ‘His Infernal Majesty’ was founded in 1991 by singer, songwriter and composer, Ville Valo.  Although it was only in 1995 that  HIM formally kicked off with their offbeat rock version of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game”, the band quickly made it’s way to radio stations all over Finland and Germany. In 1997 they released their first studio album – Greatest Love Songs Vol.666. Shortly after,  HIM’s second album ‘Razorblade Romance’ was topping the European and UK charts with the single “Join Me” which was featured on the soundtrack of the movie The 13th Floor.

With their career in full speed ahead, HIM soon left their nest and quickly spread their wings across the European continent, crossing the Atlantic and making their way to American shores –  conquering the love and admiration of millions of fans worldwide. A true army that loyally carries the mark of the Heartagram and rocks to the metal of love.

HIM  have released 6 studio albums and are the first Finnish band to have gone Gold in the US – with their album Dark Light.

Although having spent more time touring the world than they have their homeland, HIM do not deny their roots and there is no doubt that in their veins runs Scandinavian blood. Inspired by heavy metal bands such as Black Sabbath, and amidst the sounds of heavy guitar riffs, an atmosphere of “Scandinavian melancholy” is forever present, making HIM a unique experience music-wise.

An experience they call ‘Love Metal’
