HIM’s guitarist Mikko Viljami Lindström, also known as Linde or Daniel Lioneye, was born on 12th August 1976, in Klaukkala. Linde’s dad was an engineer and his mom was working in Finnair. Linde remembers his father always listening to Elvis and he grew up with his songs in his ear. He claims his parents were ‘the most unmusical people in the world, but I still got Landola’s acoustic guitar as a Christmas present when I was 10.’ Before that, he played Kiss with a tennis racket together with his cousin. The first song he played with that Landola guitar was Kiss’ Heaven’s On Fire. ‘I was playing that with one string, with my thumb. Kiss was the first band I liked.’ says Linde.

In beginning his parents didn’t believe that he really was interested of playing. He states that: ‘I had to fight pretty much before I get that first guitar. But when I went to the guitar lessons, they decided to support that hobby. They never had anything against playing, no way.’

Linde knew Ville since childhood and ended up joining him in the band as HIM’s guitarist.

He also formed a side project called Daniel Lioneye and the Rollers, where he played guitar and Vocals.
